'Gender parity at work can boost india's GDP' - W20 to empower women

The group of world's 20 leading economics on Sunday announced the launch of new grouping , W20 , comprising 20 women leaders from G20 nations .

The group aims at achieving a gender inclusive global economic growth in the G20 countries through the economic empowerment of women. 

The first summit of the W20 will be hosted  in istanbul, Turkey, in October.

Gender parity at work can boost india's GDP - speaking at the launch of W20, a group of world's women leaders , international Monetary Fund chief christine Legarde on Sunday said that gender - parity at work could boost india's GDp by 27% . 

She also estimated at 9% and 5% boost in US and Japan's GDp respectively and further added that the estimates were " significant and large enough to be taken seriously"

It aimed at boosting the role of women in global economic growth .

It aims to achieve gender inclusive . The W20 , having 20 women leaders from G20 nations, would host its first summit next month in Istanbul after all the member countries appoint their nominees.
